7 Tips For Buying Competition Heels Online
Ordering heels (or anything for that matter) online is incredibly convenient; you can browse an extensive collection of styles and sizes without ever having to get up from your seat. Then, the package comes right to your door! Sounds easy, right? It is, but there are things you should be aware of when purchasing heels online, especially if you are after the all-important pair of heels you will wear to your physique competition! Here are 7 tips for buying heels online!
1. Make Sure the Heels Qualify for your Competition
Different competitions will have different standards as far as heels go. There should be detailed information on what is and is not permitted if you are entering a professional physique competition. For instance, some competitions allow rhinestones whereas others might disqualify you for having sparkling shoes. You can often expect to need clear heels with clear straps, but before you finalize any purchase, check the guidelines your shoes have to follow for your competition!
2. Consider the Return Policy
What if they don’t fit? What if they don’t come on time? What if I need to cancel my order? The answers to those questions and more can usually be found in the return or order policies for online stores. You don’t want to be stuck with a pair of shoes you can’t wear and no way to return them before your competition! In general, it is good practice to check the return policies while shopping. Make sure that if the shoes come and you find that you require a different size or they are damaged, you can easily get them exchanged or replaced.
3. Order Early
Don’t wait until the last possible minute to order! When buying online, there are so many little things that can delay your package. Even if it arrives exactly on time, what if your new heels don’t fit? It could ruin the competition you worked so hard for! So, avoid any last-minute panic and mayhem by ordering your shoes at least a few weeks in advanced so you have some breathing room between the delivery and the competition.
4. Check the Size
Sizing is different just about everywhere you go, whether you buy clothes, footwear, and accessories at the mall or online. You won’t be able to try these shoes on until after you buy them, so you want to try and get the right size the first time around. If the online store offers a size chart, use it! Also, keep an eye out for international businesses – they may go by very different sizes than by what is used in your area.5. Focus on Comfort and Style
When you are actually picking out a pair of shoes to order, pay attention to the style and consider the level of comfort you can expect from the shoes. It is most important that they follow the guidelines set by the competition, but after that, it’s up to you. Do you want discreet or glamorous buckles? Are you comfortable with straps across the ankle? Do they have rhinestones or other decorations? Think about what is permitted in the competition, what you like, and what you can handle!
6. Try Them When They Arrive
Can you imagine if you ordered the perfect shoes and you put them on for the first time on the day of your competition and something wasn’t right? Can you imagine the mayhem if the buckle came loose when you tried to tighten it or they didn’t fit? When you get your shoes, try them on and walk around a bit. Get a real feel of what you will be doing in them by practicing poses and strutting your stuff like a serious competitor. Don’t wait until the last minute!
